I am a second year PhD student in the Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) Department and have recently became a Lakeside resident in July 2020. I am running for the position of Webmaster because I feel that my organization and communication skills render me a strong fit for the position. I am hopeful for the opportunity to give back to the Lakeside community and provide up-to-date information on what the committee is involved in. I believe that this is of paramount importance right now during the COVID-19 pandemic, where factual information needs to be communicated in a timely manner.
I am currently serving as a class representative on the Graduate Student Committee for CBE. I was elected for this position by my peers both last year and this year, and through this role, I have been actively involved in dispersing information to my classmates from the administration and relaying feedback from my peers back to administration. I have also been involved with planning virtual social events for the class to try to keep communication up and spirits high during the pandemic. I have also served as a tutor for Princeton Online Tutoring Network (POTN), to virtually tutor K-12 students that have had to rapidly adjust to online learning due to COVID. These experiences have made me more organized and have allowed me to better my communication skills, which will benefit my involvement in the Lakeside committee.
I take pride in my promptness and attention to detail, and due to this, I believe I will be well-suited for the Webmaster role. Please feel free to reach out with any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
