Philip Raftopoulous
My name is Philip Raftopoulos, and I am running for Treasurer of the Lakeside Committee. I’ve lived in Lakeside for about three years now and have participated in our community for a good deal of time. I believe I can help allocate our resources responsibly while supporting exciting initiatives.
Why I’m running:
Lakeside is a home shared by over 700 residents who deserve fairness and accountability in how our committee manages funds. As Treasurer, I hope to bring open communication and collaborative budgeting to our committee.
What I’ll prioritize:
- Fair allocation of resources. Whether it’s for social events, gardens, maintenance, or community programming, I’ll work closely with committee members and residents to ensure funds are allocated in a way that benefits us all.
- Cost efficiencies and fundraising. I’ll explore modest cost-saving measures (bulk purchases, vendor negotiations) and feasible fundraising or sponsorship opportunities (if allowed) to stretch our budget further.
- Responsive budgeting. I’ll make sure our committee’s spending plans adapt to evolving community needs. If residents express interest in new initiatives, I’ll prioritize flexibility to fund them responsibly.
I am committed to fulfilling the Treasurer’s responsibilities with diligence and respect for our community input.

Hello, my name is Christopher and I’m re-running for Lakeside treasurer.
As your current treasurer, I’ve demonstrated responsible stewardship over our community’s funds and ensured that our community could engage in activities that improve all of our lives while maintaining a stable financial foundation.
In my time as treasurer, I’ve played a part in the continued negotiations with university admin to acquire funds for, and approval of, modifications to our community’s gym facilities which, hopefully, will be implemented very soon. If re-elected, I’d like to do the following:
- See through the proposed changes to Lakeside Commons
- Oversee the financial side of other committee members’ quality of life improvement endeavors
