Cece Ramsey

Hi neighbors! I’m Cece, and I’m running for Lakeside Secretary. This is my 4th year calling Lakeside my home, along with my much more popular roommate, my dog Grey. I’ve been here through the mold, the lost packages, and the hot nights without AC. But I’ve also been here for the peaceful mornings with the sound of the crew rowing on the lake, spontaneous chats with neighbors while our dogs play, and those incredibly convenient bus rides to campus. In other words, I love it here. And I want to do my part to make it even better.
Why Me?
I’ve served as Chair and Secretary on committees in multiple settings, including at Princeton, and I know how to:
- Set agendas and take clear, concise minutes
- Draft communications that are transparent and easy to follow
- Follow through on what matters to residents
More importantly,
I believe in being a good neighbor, like getting to know our maintenance staff by name and picking up trash on my walks. I see Lakeside as a community, and I’m running for Secretary to help make it even more welcoming, responsive, and connected.
What I Bring:
- Successful Advocacy: As Chair of my department’s Graduate Liaison Committee, I surveyed students and successfully advocated for reduced required course hours and clearer policies for DCE students.
- Event Organization & Communication: As the grad student leader of the Student Friends of the Princeton University Library, I organize events and communicate with 900+ student members. Bonus: I’ve also learned how to coordinate with university partners and navigate university comms guidelines.
- Writing & Editing: Having worked in publishing and as a writing consultant, I bring strong editing and copywriting skills to ensure all our communications are clear and professional.
What I Want to Work On:
- Advocating for HVAC and mold fixes: Last year’s committee did a great job of setting this in motion, and I want to help keep the momentum going by ensuring clear communication around timelines and fixes, as well as documenting ongoing cases.
- Making the commute to Meadows safer: Their gym is great. Our friends live there. I’ll be advocating for better lighting and more transit options at night.
- Creating a Lakeside Welcome Guide: Move-in, at least for me, felt daunting. I want to create a warm, helpful welcome packet for new residents, like the kind you get from a really nice Airbnb: insider tips, local favorites, and all the essential info for emergencies. With 3+ years at Lakeside and experience designing similar flyers, I’m confident I can lead this project and we can help new neighbors feel more at home from day one.
- Starting Community Clean-Up Days and Nature Tours: This is my passion project because we live in such a beautiful place. 1) I’d love to organize community clean-up days once a semester (great way to get to know each other and make an impact). 2) I’ve always wondered about the trees and native plants growing around the meadow, so let’s invite someone who knows about them and learn together on a nature tour.
If any of this resonates with you — or if you just want someone on the committee who genuinely cares and is ready to get stuff done — I’d love your support.
Let’s leave Lakeside better than we found it.
Kaleigh Remick

Hi everyone! I’m Kaleigh, and I am a G4 in molecular biology. Outside of research, I love salsa dancing, bartending, running, reading (you may have seen me walking with a book around campus), and eating an insane amount of ice cream. I have lived in Lakeside for three years and am excited to have the opportunity to run for Secretary.
Why me?
From the beginning of my time at Princeton, I have completely thrown myself into helping the grad school be a wonderful community for everyone.
– I have served as the Events Czar at DBar for three years, where I’ve focused on expanding our events to include more cultural nights, dancing and painting nights, and even started a book club — really ensuring that all students with different identities and interests can find a community at Princeton.
– I have worked as a Writing Center Fellow for four years, where I work primarily with graduate students and postdocs to help them with papers and applications. Working here has also helped me cultivate communication and organization skills that will help me be an effective secretary.
– I am the president of the Molecular Biology Outreach Program, where I lead fellow grad students to organize outreach events in our community.
– I recently started a Bachata Club, where fellow graduate students can learn a new dance at an affordable price. I’m not afraid to try new things and spearhead new initiatives!
I hope you can see how involved and invested I am in the Princeton graduate student community and how much I want to make it the best place possible for our students.
What I hope to work on:
1) Communication! I know that maintenance issues, lost packages, housing lottery, and so many other things can be a huge stress in our already stressful lives. As secretary, I hope to improve communication on these issues and make sure that everyone is informed in a timely and effective manner.
2) HVAC issues: My HVAC has been broken since June, so I’m right there with you all! I want to continue to advocate for accountability on HVAC and maintenance issues.
3) Packages: Tired of lost packages? Me too! I plan to advocate for more effective signage, systems, and communication regarding packages and lost mail.
4) Facilitating neighbor-to-neighbor events: So many of us have friends that also live somewhere in Lakeside, but how often do you talk to the other people right next door to you, on your floor, and in your building? I would love to facilitate events for people to convene with immediate neighbors and get to know new people so that next time you need a cup of sugar, just knock next door!
I am so excited for the opportunity to be your secretary and bring my energy, enthusiasm, organization, and motivation to the Lakeside Committee!
